Privacy policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Ludex is a service for tracking and organizing your video game library, available as a web app (getludex.com) and as an Android app. This policy explains what data we process, why, and the rights you have over it. It applies equally to the web and the app.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Carlos Valera, the independent developer behind Ludex. For any privacy question you can write to ludex.app@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: email, name and nickname. If you sign in with Google, we receive the email, name and profile picture from your Google account. Your password is managed by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store it in plain text.
  • Your library: the games you add and their status (playing, completed, pending…), favorites, owned games and wishlist.
  • Feedback: the messages you voluntarily send us through the feedback channel.
  • Usage data: metrics about how the service is used (pages visited, searches, library actions). See the analytics section.

3. How we use it

To provide the service: keep your account, store your library and sync it in real time between the web and the Android app.

To improve the product: understand what works and what doesn't from aggregated usage metrics.

To reply to your feedback when you write to us.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

4. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of contract performance (we can't provide the service without your account and library), our legitimate interest in improving the product (usage analytics), and your consent when you send us feedback.

5. Analytics

We use two analytics tools, both cookie-free and with no storage on your device: Vercel Analytics (aggregated traffic metrics) and PostHog (product events: pages visited, searches and library actions).

If you are signed in, PostHog events are linked to your account's internal identifier — not to your email or name — so we can measure product usage in aggregate. PostHog data is hosted in the United States.

6. Who we share data with

Only with the providers we need to run the service, acting as data processors:

  • Google Firebase (authentication and realtime database).
  • Vercel (web hosting and traffic analytics).
  • PostHog (product analytics).

The game catalog comes from IGDB (Twitch). Catalog queries are made from our servers: IGDB never receives your identity or account data.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers (Google, Vercel, PostHog) process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, depending on the provider.

8. How long we keep your data

For as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your account data and library are deleted. Aggregated usage metrics may be kept in a form that no longer identifies you.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, delete and port your data, and to object to its processing. You can exercise these rights by writing to ludex.app@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

To delete your account: from the Android app (Profile → Delete account) or by writing to ludex.app@gmail.com from the email address you registered with.

10. Children

Ludex is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under that age has provided us with data, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will publish it on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will be communicated prominently in the service.
